Full Time Cultural Worker,STR8 UP

The Cultural Worker will provide connections and opportunities learning for STR8 UP members and staff who wish to participate in Indigenous traditional teachings, ceremonies, events, and activities.

In collaboration with the larger STR8 UP team this person will be responsible for organizing, coordinating and/or facilitating cultural activities that connect individuals with opportunities for healing. This position will be filled by an applicant who identifies as Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit and Metis).

Responsibilities include:
- Provide One-on-One Cultural Guidance
- Arrange access to spiritual and cultural practices to support healing
- Accompany and support both staff and members attending cultural ceremonies
- Facilitate recreational and cultural opportunities that include family
- Provide information about cultural services and opportunities in the community
- Meet with staff to grow cultural competency within STR8 UP
- Travel may be required to various communities throughout northern Saskatchewan.
- Shift work may be required with some Evenings, Day shifts as well as weekends.
