Description

The Saskatchewan Ministry of Agricultures Livestock Branch is seeking a values-driven and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Senior Policy Analyst to implement legislation, regulations and policy related to the livestock sector in Saskatchewan. This position provides a challenging and dynamic opportunity to work with a wide professional network to advance livestock industry policy in the province.

Reporting to the Director, Livestock Development, this Senior Policy Analyst position will:

- Lead the branch in livestock policy development, including conducting in-depth research and analysis, and providing policy advice on issues affecting Saskatchewans livestock industry.
- Work closely with a team of Provincial Livestock Specialists, veterinarians and livestock industry partners to prepare for and respond to emerging issues in Saskatchewans livestock sector.
- Collaborate across the branch, ministry, government, and private sector including conducting internal and external stakeholder consultations.
- Provide leadership on policy, legislation, and regulation development.
- Competencies for this position would typically be obtained through the completion of a Master of Public
- Administration or Policy, or a Master of Science in Agriculture or Commerce (Master of Business
- Administration or Agriculture Economics) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge of the Western Canadian livestock industry and government decision-making processes are considered an asset.
