Job Description: The Social Worker Degree reports directly to the Manager of Social Work.
The Social Worker Degree is responsible to identify, assess, intervene, and follow-up patients in the Yorkton Regional Health Centre. The Social Worker Degree will provide for social, emotional, and cultural needs of patients and their families in the Yorkton Regional Health Centre.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in Social Work
Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers (SASW)
Experience
One (1) year experience in Social Work.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to travel both within the region and provincially
Decision making skills
Demonstrated ability to be self-directed
Demonstrated ability to conduct individual and group counselling/educational programs
Demonstrated ability to deal with others, including persons who may be in emotional crisis
Demonstrated ability to maintain a positive attitude, a pleasant manner, and harmonious working relationship
Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Social Work philosophy and goals, i.e..cultural sensitivity, respect for individualization and self-determination
Effective oral and written communication skills
Problem solving skills

Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement. HSAS seniority within the Saskatchewan Health Authority will be considered under the Selection Criteria.
