Position Description:
Under the direct supervision of the YWCA Community Programs Coordinator, and in cooperation with the
Director and Manager of Community Programs, the Camp Leaders will plan, prepare, and deliver the facilitation of the Power of Being a Girl (PBG) summer day camp program, and are responsible for participants supervision and welfare during the duration of the camp. The Camp Leaders create a positive environment for vulnerable and at-risk children and youth by carrying out the YWCAs core values, policies, and procedures at this in-person urban day camp (4 x 5-day day-camps) focusing on igniting the potential of girls through their physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing. Opportunities for Professional Development: The PBG Camp Coordinator will have the opportunity to increase their professional communication skills, increase their knowledge in research and development of youth programming, and familiarize themselves with community agencies. Additionally, learning and serving the YWCA participants from a trauma-informed lens.
