Regina Treaty/Status Indian Services Inc. (RT/SIS) is a non-profit organization that provides a range of programs and services to the First Nations population in the City of Regina. Under the supervision of the FNFSC Coordinator, the Family Support Worker provides services and support to families living in at-risk conditions. The Family Support Worker is responsible for providing support, crisis intervention and referral services for families engaged in the program. The Family Support Worker will conduct home visits with participants to ensure ongoing supports are in place. The Coordinator will provide confidential assistance to families who are requiring social, economic, spiritual and emotional support. The Coordinator will advocate for the family and ensure that referrals are made if additional services are required. The Coordinator will work in close consultation with the staff to ensure that standards and quality services are maintained.
Applicants should possess the following: Undergraduate degree in Social Work or related discipline. A combination of education and experience may also be considered; Certification in Safe Food Handling, WHMIS, CPR and First Aid; Crisis Intervention techniques including Physical Applied Response; Knowledge of the Saskatchewan First Nations Child and Family Services Group Homes and Community Care Programs Standards of Care Manual; Knowledge of the Saskatchewan Residential Services Act and the Youth Criminal Justice Act; -Knowledge of City of Reginas community programs and continuum of care; Knowledge of current issues that impact families; Group programming development and facilitation experience with an understanding of group dynamics; Ability to conduct assessments and develop treatment plans; Must possess a valid drivers license and own vehicle; Must be able to pass security screening and maintain confidentiality; Knowledge of First Nations values, culture, traditions, and governance.
