Description

Meadow Lake Mechanical Pulp Inc. is currently seeking to fill the following position: Process Engineer.

Reporting to the Technical Manager, the Process Engineer will work closely with Technical and Operations personnel in conducting process monitoring and optimization. In addition, the Process Engineer is responsible for co-ordination of projects and trials to help increase production, improve quality and reduce costs.

Responsibilities:
Monitor the operation on a daily basis.
Evaluate new or existing processes and equipment to further optimize production, quality and costs.
Perform in-process testing for R&D purposes and troubleshooting as required.
Develop process control, testing, and sampling techniques necessary to control mill processes.
Review operating reports and recommend solutions to any deviations from control targets.
Assist with internal and external customer complaints, inquiries or requests as needed to help ensure that their specifications are met or exceeded.

Qualifications:
A Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering.
Eligible for registration with APEGS as a Professional Engineer
3-5 years of experience working in an industrial facility is considered an asset.
Advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs is required.
Pulp & Paper or Steam & Recovery plant experience is also considered an asset.
Highly motivated and able to work independently.
Flexible, well organized and ability to multi-task.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skillscustomer focused.
A high sense of urgency with regards to operational requirements.
