Description

Reporting to the Director, Registration Services and Professional Conduct, the Nursing Advisor, Registration Services position plays a central role in the assessment, review, approval, and processing of registration and licensure.  CRNS employees provide advice and guidance to registrants, potential registrants and other stakeholders.

As a registered nurse (RN) leader, you aspire to make a difference in your profession. You possess the leadership skills to enhance and promote safe, ethical and competent RN practice.  Your open, engaging and decisive communication style with registrants, employers, external stakeholders and the public demonstrates your professionalism, accountability and responsibility to the registration process.  

As a registered nurse (RN) leader, you possess strong critical thinking to successfully facilitate the registration process ensuring consistent application of policies, procedures, and practices.  You provide evidence-based leadership in responding to questions about nursing regulation, writing CRNS documents and delivering education to registrants.  You are proficient in obtaining, analyzing and summarizing information.  You assess, evaluate and determine eligibility for RN, RN(AAP) and NP licensure; counsel/communicate with RNs, NPs, stakeholders and members of the public regarding RN and NP regulatory and legislative issues. You act as advisor to staff advisory committees as assigned. You may also represent the CRNS on national, provincial, and local committees regarding nursing regulation and health policy.

Education/Experience
Current licensure with the CRNS or eligibility to obtain licensure with the CRNS.
Masters degree in Nursing or related field
Excellent skills and abilities in issue identification as well as resolution, counselling and facilitation.
