Job Description: The Payroll Analyst position provides support to the Payroll Analyst and the Payroll Department in order to meet Provincial Payroll standards, develop Regional payroll processes, and to coordinate the work of the payroll department.  The job entails keeping up-to-date with existing conditions and requirements and making provisions for increases in service for the region to meet future requirements.  The incumbent is concerned with such things as proper functioning and planning changes within the Payroll department and the region. With a large portion of the SHRs annual budget going payroll costs it is essential that the Analyst ensures that payroll information is timely, accurate and useful. Not meeting these criteria can lead to incorrect decision making; having a severe negative impact on Saskatoon Health Region such as inaccuracy of reports or records, loss of time in detecting and correcting an error, financial losses and incurring financial obligations. Working in a team environment within the Payroll department, this position provides relief to other analysts as required.  The incumbent operates under the region's policies and procedures as well as the applicable collective agreements.  The freedom to plan, act, and make decisions are broadly subject to the guidance of broad organization policies collective agreements and legislative requirements.

Required Qualifications

Baccalaureate degree in commerce or administration with a major in human resources/finance/accounting preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with many individuals and groups including staff, students, unions and the general public
Ability to remain calm and focused during peak p
