Job Description: The Quality Improvement Nurse is a member of the Integrated Saskatoon Health Resource Team.  The goal of the position is to improve quality and safety for patients of the Integrated Saskatoon Health - Acute Care service line.  The position is accountable for the development and implementation of quality improvement processes and projects. The incumbent will be a leader, educator, facilitator, motivator, and coordinator of quality improvement programs and initiatives implemented by the Integrated Saskatoon Health Acute Care team.

The role will be specifically responsible for implementation and development of patient safety culture and education, and providing clinical quality improvement education and expertise to the staff.

The Quality Nurse follows the Canadian Nurses' Association's Code of Ethics, and the Nursing Unit's standards and policies. The incumbent identifies and meets professional development needs, maintains competence to role, and participates in professional organizations.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Nursing
Current CPR Certification
Current registration in good standing with College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years recent acute care nursing experience, three (3) of which must be in
  the specific clinical area
- Previous supervisory experience would be an asset

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to function as a role model for staff and physicians
Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment
Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development
Demonstrated computer skills as required by unit
