Term: One Year Contract with the possibility for extension
Salary: $25/hr, benefits offered following standard probation period
Start Date: May 29, 2024 (Negotiable)
Location: Saskatoon or Regina
Agriculture in the Classroom Saskatchewan is a registered charity committed to connecting kids and agriculture through innovative, experiential, curriculum-based programs and resources for K-12 students and teachers.
The Sustainability Programs Coordinator facilitates science and career-education programs for middle years and high school students, especially focusing on the roles of science and in sustainable food systems.  The Sustainability Program Coordinator reports directly to the Programs Manager and will be responsible for a portfolio of education outreach programs focused on middle years and secondary-level sciences and career exploration, undertaking the following duties:  Coordinate program details including logistics and budget; Maintain positive relationships with stakeholders; Facilitate programs and presentations across the province (travel required); Contribute to resource development; Participate in program committees.
The ideal candidate: Motivated, energetic, creative. Excellent communication skills; High level of comfort engaging with participants of diverse backgrounds and experiences; Formal education in environmental or agricultural science; Awareness of agriculture and experience in the education field are huge assets; Comfortable with Microsoft applications and general computer use; Valid drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle for travel within the province.
The position will be based from a home office setting in the Regina area or a hybrid home and shared office setting in Saskatoon. Reliable access to a computer and internet connection is required. This position is funded through the ECO Canada Youth Science Horizons Grant, therefore is open to candidates 30 years old and under.
