Description

As the Health and Safety Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring a safe work environment for our employees. You are responsible for expanding the safety culture within our organization by maintaining our Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Management System by developing and implementing a variety of programs, policies, and procedures in compliance with regulations and industry standards. You will be required to participate in the audit and maintain the Safety Certificate of Recognition (COR) certification along with any other identified certifications.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
1. Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs and certifications, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations.
2. Provide guidance and support to management and employees on health and safety issues as they arise.
3. Conduct regular inspections and audits of the workplace to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement corrective actions.
4. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near mises to determine root causes and recommend preventative measures.
5. Overseeing and participating in all Occupational Health and Safety Committee responsibilities.
6. Facilitate in-house health and safety new employee orientations and other training/education sessions.
7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
8. Performing other duties as allocated.
