Job Description: The Mental Health Therapist is accountable for the provision of intake, clinical consultation, clinical assessment and treatment services to a diverse client group that includes adults and children and youth outpatient clientele.
This position is accountable to the Manager of Mental health and Addictions and is situated in a multi-disciplinary team which includes social workers, registered psychiatric nurse and, addictions counselors.

Qualifications:
- A bachelor degree in a Social Work, Psychology or other health related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience working with clients and families coping with mental health disorders.
- Eligibility for Professional registration with applicable professional association

Required Qualifications

Valid Class 5 driver's license
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to advocate on behalf of clients
Ability to conduct a suicide risk assessment and create a risk management plan with the other health care providers on the team.
Advanced counseling skills
Advanced demonstrated knowledge of a variety of intervention methodologies (individual and group) for patients, families and children.
Computer skills.
Demonstrate an understanding of the principles of the Mental Health Services Act and related legislation
Demonstrated skill in maintaining files and records  
Demonstrated skills with Addiction and Concurrent disorders specific assessment and counselling.
Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills with clients and co-workers
Knowledge of the holistic addictions treatment model
Sound knowledge of indigenous culture, healing practices and indigenous b
