As the in home support worker will work one-on-one to establish a caring and compassionate relationship with a young adult. This position helps develop/implement an individualized personal support plan for a young adult with complex medical needs and cognitive delay to get them involved in residential and community activities while making sure they are safe and comfortable doing so.
Responsibilities:
Document and administer medications
provide help with personal care when needed
to collaborate and develop/implement personal support program for the young adult in home and community setting
provide opportunities through programming and environments that will promote the development of the young adults social, emotional, physical, communicative, cognitive and creative skills while preserving their health and well-being and their safety
Promote inclusion through engaging the young adults through interactions and involvement in the community
Assist in housekeeping
Maintain a caring compassionate responsive relationship with client as well as a cooperative relationship with the family
Qualifications:
Completion of at least one of the following programs:
Disability support worker program
Education assistant program
Rehabilitation worker program
ECCE certificate or other relevant and applicable education with diverse needs with minimum one year of experience
Current first aid CPR training
Current valid Saskatchewan driver's license
Current criminal record check/ Vulnerable sector check
Strong written and verbal communication skills an asset
