Skills and Abilities
Tasks
- Calculate and prepare cheques for payroll
- Calculate fixed assets and depreciation
- Calculate the GST and PST amount
- File the PST returns and Payroll returns
- Remit the government dues before due dates
- Keep financial records and establish, maintain and
balance various accounts using manual and
computerized bookkeeping systems
- Maintain general ledgers and financial statements
- Post journal entries
- Perform extensive data entry to ensure all financial
data is input into accounting software
- Prepare other statistical, financial and accounting
reports
- Prepare tax returns (T2) at the year end
- Prepare Individual tax return (T1)
- Prepare trial balance of books at the year end
- Reconcile the bank statements and Cash flow
statements
Computer and technology knowledge
- Accounting software (Quick book)
- MS Excel
- MS Word
Education & Experience:
- Must have worked in CPA firm (At least for a one Year)
preferred; CPA designation or equivalent is an asset
but not required
- PCP certification in Payroll is considered an asset
but not required
- Minimum 1year related experience in corporate
bookkeeping / accounting for a small business
