THE POSITION
Reporting to Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the CFO position will be responsible for directing the financial affairs of STC and its five corporate entities. The CFO is an integral part of the senior management team and C-Suite. The CFO will have oversight and responsibility for best practice implementation and improvements to current financial planning processes, reports, fiscal accountability and limiting risks within STC. The CFO will conduct regular analysis, sourcing/managing funds, performance measure updates, ongoing management accounting, decision support and financial reporting to the CEO, Tribal Chief, and the Board of Directors. The CFO's major mandate is to ensure STC has a long-range financial strategy that will support STC to achieve its mission and to meet its strategic plans. The CFO will serve as a principal advisor to assist and make recommendations to STC and its legal entities' financial management systems. The CFO is directly responsible for leading STCs finance team to deliver accurate and timely financial tracking and reporting systems, financial forecasting and analysis, budgetary controls, financial risk management, investment management, grant management, central records, and year-end reporting. Externally, the CFO will establish key long-term relationships with lending and financial institutions, government funders, and other financial partners that enhance STC's financial outcome to carry out the strategic objectives. The CFO will lead with intellectual and emotional agility, possessing sophisticated decision-making and influence to continuously promote First Nations' philosophy and STCs mission, vision, and values.
