Description

Seeking a full-time professional to join our department (based remotely) specializing in vehicle extrication and technical rescue. We cover a very large response area operating with highly trained personnel responding to all types of emergency situations. Members work a 7 on/7 off rotation with accommodations provided. Successful applicants will have exceptional team work skills while being able to make assertive, effective decisions in high stress situations.
We are looking for a mature person who has a minimum of 5 year experience. Preference will be given to individuals who live in Saskatoon and area. Interviews and training will start as soon as possible.
Required Qualifications
NFPA 1001 Firefighter Professional Qualification Level 1 and 2
NFPA 472 Dangerous Goods: Operations
NFPA 1051 Wild-land Firefighting
Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) or MFR
Valid Class 4 or 5 drivers license
Position Responsibilities
Be response ready 24 hours a day while on shift to respond to all emergency situations.
Maintain equipment such as vehicles, extrication tools, rope, breathing apparatus, extinguishers, personal protective equipment, and all associated rescue equipment.
Provide peer and public instruction and education.
Coordinate with mutual aid departments as per response needs.
Perform Emergency Medical Response.
Operate emergency response vehicles in a safe manner.
Liaison between other emergency agencies (RCMP, Sheriff, ALS/BLS, etc.).
Position Standards
Be able to provide drivers abstract demonstrating safe, responsible driving habits.
Be able to pass pre-employment lab-based drug screening.
Be able to provide clean criminal records with vulnerable sectors check.
Be physically fit.
