Description

Background:  Battle River Indigenous  Relations Council Inc. (BRIRC) is a non-profit membership corporation located in North Battleford, SK. Our members include Lucky Man Cree Nation, Little Pine First Nation and Moosomin First Nation. Our objective is the advancement and protection of the member Nations Treaty and Inherent rights, culture and way of life.
Description of Position: BRIRC is seeking an Associate Director to assist with all aspects of running the organization and to help expand the organization going forward.
-    Help coordinate, plan, and conduct community engagement sessions with member First Nations;
-    Project management, including project tracking, budget and personnel oversight;
-    Lead and track team meetings, progress and deliverables;
-    Research and report on developments in natural resources and government policy;
-    Develop and maintain good filing systems and good governance practices;
-    Create and manage a record of consultation performed by government and industry;
-    Attend and participate in meetings with government and industry;
-    Ability to turn meeting notes into meeting minutes and follow up letters;
Qualifications
-    Post-secondary education in Indigenous Governance, Lands and Resources, Business, Environmental Science and related experience, or equivalent training and experience
-    Experience leading community engagement or information sessions in community
-    Excellent written, computer, and verbal communication skills  
-    Valid Drivers Licence
-    Ability to travel overnight and out of province
-    Satisfactory Criminal Reference Check
