ISM is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Consultant (Linux Administration). In this role you will be a part of a team that is responsible for UNIX / Linux administration of on-premises and cloud systems. The position plans, coordinates, and implements entire projects within an area of software expertise for diverse clients.
Work involves all aspects of projects, having significant complexity. The position solves problems within defined project goals. There is no direct supervision, although direction is provided re: long-range goals, and work is reviewed through consultation and against project goals.
The position integrates its own work with systems architecture, resolves all technical issues independently, and balances diverse/conflicting needs. The position makes significant contributions to the customer in multiple areas and designs programs to meet customer needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform Operating System Support for Midrange servers as follows:
Unix Software management process that encompass: installation of base operating system, other required system software components, Unix related tools and utilities, and software maintenance (patches, hotfixes and upgrades)
Rollout planning and scheduling
Testing and documentation
Unix Logical Volume planning and configuration; paging space definition and management; print queue definition and management; schedule and manage system-related batch jobs
Unix Security Management process that encompasses: identify/implement/manage System Security software, and protection for other Operating System related software and Operating System OSR
