The Office Assistant summer position will assist our Early Childhood Family Services Worker & Youth Worker as well as assist the Office Coordinator. Must be between 15 and 30 at time the jobs starts.
This position works under the guidance of the Office Coordinator and the Early Childhood Family Services.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Develop and/or update and deliver presentation packages designed for the community, with input from staff. This may include agency brochures, printed matter or other materials.
Provide assistance to the Early Childhood and Family Service worker with Deaf or Hard of Hearing persons and their families. Help to plan and facilitate summer day camp for deaf and hard of hearing children and youth.ie making posters, registration forms, video announcements in ASL, spreadsheets, booking spaces, arranging transportation and participating in camp.
May be involved with filming and editing of children's books to ASL.
Assist and encourage citizens to participate in their community and help provide the resources that they may need to do so.
Interact with the deaf and hard of hearing community members, clients, co-workers, as well as the public and other agencies, as required.
Research opportunities for additional fundraising grants.
Solicit and collect silent auction items/door prizes from local businesses for annual fundraise that bring helps support the ECFS program.
General clerical tasks as required.
American Sign language is an asset and preference will be given to Deaf or Hard of Hearing individuals or person with ASL skills.
