Qualifications:
15 years+ of experience in Mechanical Engineering, Product design, Product Development, and Manufacturing (Lean Methodologies) Engineering Process
10 years+ of hands-on experience with Solidworks CAD designing and simulation (FEA, Motion, Routings)
5 years+ of hands-on experience with Solidworks CAM programming.
10+ years of experience in design assembly of different materials (Steel, Aluminum, Polymers, Composites), aligned with machine components and sensors.
Strong background with quality managements systems (i.e. ISO), product evaluation, reliability, and inspection methods.
Strong production management skills with 3d printing technology, understands 3d printing material properties, methods of processing, in-depth technical knowledge of 3D printing machines (FDM, SLA, SLM) gcoding, customization and maintenance.
Problem Solver, proficient in root cause analysis and understand industrial standard methodologies to provide solutions.
Effective in process improvement, cost analysis and material alternative solutions.
High computer literacy and can learn new software (with background on some other engineering application software)
Strong organizational project planning skills and production capacity planning skills. Project management certification is considered an asset.
Material Science background is considered an asset.
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Active member of The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS), Mechanical Engineer (EIT designated with Certification and currently working on P.Eng Certification).
Role Accountabilities:
Responsible for ensuring that the mechanical and electrical designs are optimized for sensor stability and performance in soil and groundwater environments as well as manufacturing efficiency.
Accountable for manufacturing processes and quality control to ensure that sensors and other systems deployed are functional and reliable.
