Description

The Ministry of Highways is seeking an Administrative Support - Finance team member for a term position of up to 10 months.  Reporting to the Program Support Supervisor, you will provide financial administrative support services for the southern region as well as other areas as needed.

The successful candidate will form part of the administration team that serves a wide range of clients including, but not limited to, various Ministry staff, Ministry executives, branches, divisions, and external stakeholders.  

As a member of the Finance Administrative Support team, you will:

- Have strong analytical, and computer skills.
- Maintain various databases, including computer software such as Midas, Oracle, and Microsoft Office.
- Have a working knowledge of the Financial Administrative Manual (FAM) and/or other standard financial operating procedures and best practices.
- Be responsible for processing payment requests of approved invoices.
- Respond to and redirect inquiries from Ministry staff, the public, vendors and external stakeholders.
- Manage constantly changing priorities while meeting daily deadlines.
- Conduct yourself in a professional manner that is focused on client service.
- Create, proofread, and format documents, forms, and reports using various software programs.
- Reconcile, assess, code, and process documents and purchase cards.
- Compile reports and maintain tracking spreadsheets.
- Receive and distribute incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries.
- Scan, archive, and maintain various filing systems.
- Have the ability to move and lift up to 50 lbs in a safe manner.

Typically, to qualify for this position, your training would be through a diploma in office education or office administration and/or several years of relevant experience.
