About You
You are comfortable providing administrative support to the community because you are friendly, helpful, and have excellent interpersonal skills. You enjoy working with a diverse community. You are an organized and detail-oriented administrator who can effectively manage multiple priorities. You enjoy learning new technologies and work well independently and with others. Office technology or IT skills are an asset but are not required.
About The Job
The Office Administrator is the Synagogues go-to person, responsible for efficiently running the synagogue office and providing administrative support to the staff and congregation. Answering phone calls and emails, taking messages, directing visitors, and maintaining the synagogue calendar are regular tasks. The Office Administrator also maintains synagogue records, prepares correspondence, orders supplies, and manages the gift shop, as well as other administrative tasks.
Typically, the skills and experience to prepare you for this opportunity would include a combination of post-secondary education and at least one year of working as an office administrator.
Knowledge of Jewish culture is an asset, as is Hebrew or Russian spoken language and a class 5 drivers licence.
Schedule: This role is part-time (20 - 30 hours per week) and in-person.
Your daily schedule is negotiable at the time of hiring.
Evening and Sunday shifts will be required on occasion.
