Description

The Budget Analyst is a key member of the Client Support & Financial Analysis team. Under the direction of the Manager, Client Support & Financial Analysis, the Budget Analyst has the responsibility for developing and implementing a wide range of financial analytical services that are consistent across Saskatchewan Polytechnic yet meet the needs of the specific divisions they represent in order to support the delivery of programs and services to Saskatchewan Polytechnic students. The Budget Analyst is the resident divisional and campus expert for all matters pertaining to budgets, financial analysis and forecasting. As such, the Budget Analyst is the primary contact for management, deans, program heads, human resources and other financial services personnel looking for guidance in interpreting financial and budgetary policy and procedures or seeking advice in resolving financial planning-related matters. The Budget Analyst is assigned responsibility for specific divisions/departments and campuses, however, his or her actions and decisions have the ability to have Saskatchewan Polytechnic-wide impact.

The Budget Analyst is expected to have a thorough understanding of strategic financial analysis, and to use these principals when designing and implementing services for Saskatchewan Polytechnic. This position is technical in nature and requires that the individual have a thorough working knowledge of financial information systems, Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS). and experience with financial and statistical reporting and data management.
