Description

The Development Officer manages a portfolio of up to 120 donors and is responsible for establishing and managing effective relationships with major donor prospects and existing donors that generate gifts greater than $25,000. The Development Officer will solicit prospects and identify and motivate those individuals, organizations, and foundations who can advance Saskatchewan Polytechnics mission through their charitable giving. Creating submissions to foundations takes sophisticated skills to be able to navigate internal and external stakeholders.
Duties include:
1. Work collaboratively with the Advancement team to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward major and planned gift prospects.
2. Work independently to manage relationship building, cultivation, and solicitation within an assigned portfolio of major gift donors and prospects.
3. Develop major gift structure alternatives that meet and reflect the needs of major gift donors.
4. Develop and manage a portfolio of assigned major gifts and planned giving donors and prospects which generates a minimum of $1,000,000 per year in gifts and sponsorship received.
5. Maintain and build donor and prospect files, file timely and complete contact reports, develop and submit reports as requested, and follow Advancement recording procedures to ensure effective prospect management systems.
6. Identify opportunities for alumni involvement in the major gift program.
7. Represent Saskatchewan Polytechnic and the Advancement as appropriate at key community and business events.
