Education:
A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Indian Social Work (BISW) or Social Work (BSW).
Current registered member or the ability to be a registered member of the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers (SASW).
Minimum of five (5) years progressive experience in the field of child and family services with at least three (3) years of experience in a senior management/executive position for a First Nation or Provincial Children Services Department.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge and understanding of provincial child and family services legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures, including the Residential Services Act and the FSIN Indian Child Welfare and Family Support Act.
Knowledge of fiscal management and responsibility, child and family program funding, contracts, and partnerships; risk management.
Knowledge of the political, social, and economic objectives of the Muskoday First Nation Culture.
Ability to develop good working relationships with the Saskatoon Tribal Health and Family Services Inc., and other levels of government, agencies, and key stakeholders to create strong lines of communication and provide a continuum of services.
Proven leadership skills, with a strong focus on mentorship and development of professionals.
Ability to build teamwork, collaborate and communicate effectively between teams, departments, and key stakeholders.
Ability to maintain effectiveness, drive and focus for extended periods of time, with composure in highly stressful or adverse situations.
Ability to analyze, manage issues, make recommendations, and implement solutions.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
Initiative, strong work ethic and drive for results, honors commitments with attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy; confidentially, and accountability.
