Moose Jaw Co-op is now hiring a full-time Meat Manager at our Marketplace Food Store.

The Meat Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of task execution and the direction and future success of the Meat Department. This includes achieving budgeted goals related to sales, margin, expenses, and inventory. It also includes achieving established objectives in terms of brand, service levels, quality, timeliness of delivery, and identifying areas for improvement. You will maintain high standards in merchandising, customer service, and have the ability to lead a team in achieving organizational and department goals.

Reporting to the Food Store Manager, responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    Prepare, implement and be responsible for the budget, sales, margins, expenses, inventory and productivity of the Meat Department
    Lead a culture of safety through adherence to company standards for Health & Safety, Loss Prevention and Environmental Due Diligence
    Lead and direct employees in accordance with company policies, procedures and the Collective Bargaining Agreement
    Responsible for the mentorship, supervision, and training of new and existing Meat Department Team members, including recruitment, onboarding, goal setting, performance management, employee relations, scheduling, timecard management, training, and development
    Ensuring prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service is provided at all times and complaints, adjustments, and returns are handled efficiently

Who you are:
    3+ years of management experience, preferably in a Meat retail environment
    Meat cutting certificate or equivalent meat cutting experience
    Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
    Strong leadership, delegation, organizational, critical analysis, and problem-solving skills
    Related experience in the Co-operative Retailing System is an asset
    Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
