Description

Muscowpetung Education Center (MEC) is currently looking for a qualified Mental Health Therapist to come in to the school on a full-time basis to provide mental health supports for students. The position is funded through Jordans Principal and offers a competitive salary. MEC is a K-12 school with approximately 110 students and is situated 60 km east of Regina in the scenic QuAppelle Valley.



Duties

The Mental Health Therapist, under supervision of the School Principal, will have duties that include:

Intake and Assessments

Meeting with parents/ caregivers

Provide direct culturally appropriate counseling to First Nation students

Provide regularly scheduled individual and group counselling sessions.

Provide crisis intervention

Provide community mental health and wellness awareness workshops

Maintain a caseload and complete counselling files

Participate in treatment planning for children & youth on assigned caseload.

Prepare reports as required

Attend collaboration meetings
