Description

Muscowpetung Education Center (MEC) is currently looking for a Math interventionist to come in to the school on a full-time basis. The main responsibility will be to improve Math levels for students in grade K to 12. The position is funded through Jordans Principal and offers a competitive salary. MEC is a K-12 school with approximately 110 students and is situated 60 km east of Regina in the scenic QuAppelle Valley.

Duties

Provide support to in-school professional staff in Math instructional improvement.

Provide professional development activities and work with in-school staff in exploring a wide variety of Math instructional strategies.  

Work extensively with students to help them improve specific math skills in number, patterns/relations, and space/shape stands of the curriculum.  

Focus on specific needs of particular students where regular classroom instruction is not sufficient.  

Work with the teacher to design methods of learning that are most appropriate for each child.

Qualifications:

Must possess and maintain a Saskatchewan Teacher Professional A certificate.

Minimum Bachelor of Education.

Special education experience would be an asset.

Teaching experience.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and families.

Proficiency in educational technology.

Completed Criminal Record Check with the Vulnerable sector check required.
