Description

The Town of Gull Lake invites applications for the position of RECREATION DIRECTOR (full-time 11 month temporary position).  The position will begin September 1, 2024.  
The successful application will be a professional, outgoing individual who strives to contribute to a healthy community by developing programs, facilities and events that encourage participation in quality recreation.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assess community needs to develop appropriate recreation services.
2.  Take care of daily operations of all components of the recreation office, including reports, files, correspondence etc.
3.  Prepare promotional material and promote recreation programs in order to ensure that residents are aware of available opportunities and activities.
4.  Apply for grants and other funding opportunities.
5.  Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations to ensure they are comfortable using the services of the recreation director.
6.  Plan special events and programs as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- experience working with the public
- ability to work with all ages
- ability to work with minimal supervision
- strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills
- strong management and organizational skills
- post-secondary education in a related field or satisfactory combinations of education and work experience.
