Preference will be given to the candidate with:
-Early Childhood Certification or a degree in the Human Services field, with extensive knowledge of quality early learning environments. Equivalent experience &/or education may be considered.
-Knowledge in early childhood development, family dynamics and prevention strategies.
-Experience facilitating programs for children 0-5 years and their parents/caregivers.
-Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative environment with community partners.
-Proven ability to work both independently and as a team member.
-Must possess effective communication skills (both oral and written) as well as strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
-Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
-Strong computer skills.
-Must possess a valid drivers license, have access to a reliable vehicle and obtain a $2,000,000.00 business liability insurance policy.
-Ability to travel on occasion as may be required by the position.
The successful candidate will be able to perform the following duties:
-Plan, organize and facilitate age-appropriate play-based learning and programs for children and parents/caregivers that reflect the stages of child development and the principles of Play and Exploration.
-Provide a safe, clean learning rich environment for families including drop-in play and scheduled program sessions.
-Create collaborative working relationships with community partners involved in the early years and integrate their professional expertise into the programming offered at the EYFRC.
-Coordinate and supervise volunteers used at the EYFRC.
-Assist in data collection from participants (attendance records, feedback on programming, satisfaction surveys).
-Provide families with information and linkages or referrals to outside agencies as needed.
