Porcupine Opportunities Program (POP) is currently looking for a Term Workshop Labourer for our Workshop in Porcupine Plain. The ideal candidate will works within POPs woodshop to construct workshop products including core boxes, spacers, furniture, and other wood products as identified by the organization. They will work along-side other staff and clients to produce, package, and ship the products in a fast paced work environment.
Duties include work on the construction of workshop products, work alongside staff and program participants and to support the work of others including providing coaching and/or mentoring individuals through various tasks.
Qualifications
Physically fit and able to work on cement flooring, with safety equipment (steel toe shoes/boots) throughout their work day. Able to move and lift wood products, throughout their shift, in a fast paced work environment. Good communication skills in order to interact with their supervisor, other staff, and participants. An ability to deal with repetitive work and/or manage multiple tasks. Experience working with people experiencing disabilities is a significant asset.
Requirements:
Must possess a valid Saskatchewan Drivers license with a clean driving record, and possess access to a vehicle;
Must provide a Vulnerable Sector Check prior to employment.
Must be willing to take all training as identified by POP.
