The suitable candidate will be able to perform the following duties:
Oversee the Cultural Support department and land-based activities, ensuring alignment with the Woodland Wellness Centre's (WWC) mission and values.
Collaborate with the WWC Director and management team to enhance service delivery and program development.
Supervise and mentor cultural support staff, ensuring ethical practice and professional conduct.
Manage departmental budgets, conduct regular meetings, and develop strategic goals and individual work plans.
Organize and lead cultural and land-based activities that support participants' healing journeys, incorporating traditional Woodland Cree practices.
Develop and implement safety, educational, and cultural awareness plans tailored to participants' needs.
Collaborate with Woodland Cree Elders and Knowledge Keepers to maintain cultural integrity in programming.
Provide ongoing supervision, performance evaluations, and professional development for assigned staff.
Ensure compliance with WWC policies, Occupational Health & Safety Standards, and confidentiality requirements.
Foster a positive and collaborative team culture and help by responding to any questions or concerns.
The suitable candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Minimum Bachelor Degree in Cultural/Indigenous studies or related field;
Minimum (3-5) years experience in organising and leading land-based cultural activities;
Prior experience in managing teams and supervisory role;
Experience working with First Nations communities, preferably in a cultural or therapeutic setting;
Must possess a valid class 5 drivers license and own a reliable vehicle;
Must be able to provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Check, & SGI Drivers Abstract.
