Description

MLCFA operates safe homes in the community that provide culture-based programs and services to community members. The Agency operates three therapeutic safe homes (two Childrens Homes (4 children ages 0-11 years in each home) and one Youth Home (4 youth ages 12-18 years)) and one Emergency Placement Home.  We are looking for caring and responsible individuals for full-time, part-time, and casual positions to work with youth aged 12 to 18 years, in our Youth Safe Home.

RESPONSIBLITIES
Provide high quality care for the youth living in the home that protects and enhances their spiritual, mental, physical and emotional wellbeing
Maintain a safe, nurturing, and structured living environment that reflects and encourages Cree cultural values
Follow MLCFA Homes Policies and Procedures and actively participate in all aspects of the operation of the Home
Collaborate with co-workers, Home manager, and Directors in effective and respectful ways
Document daily activities, develop plans, maintain case files and update logs (activity, medication, etc.)
Observe, assess, and document youths development and learning.  Share observations and ideas with managers, directors, and clinical professionals on child treatment plans, goals, strengths/challenges, and needs  
Maintain strict confidentiality and protect the rights of youth and families involved with MLCFA Homes
Participate in regular staff meetings and on-going training and professional development

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Complete required trainings organized by MLCFA (First Aid/CPR, ASIST, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention, safe food handling, etc.)
Valid Drivers license
Provide a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Search
Availability to work shift work including days, evening, overnight, and weekends
