Job Summary: The Software Technician is responsible for designing, building and maintaining software applications to support school division business and education processes. Other duties include but are not limited to:
- Configure and manage Destiny modules, access levels, permissions, reports, usernames and passwords for district and site level users
- Collaborate with Library Services to complete school-based inventories.
- Provide Destiny training to school-based and division-based staff
- Support new software acquisitions
Required Qualifications:
- A post-secondary certificate in computer systems or equivalent training and experience
- Analytical skills for problem solving and trouble shooting
- Training/experience with server-side web application languages and in designing multi-layered software architectures
- Knowledge of DestinyWeb program an asset; specifically Library Manager, Media Manager and Resource Manager
- Relational database management skills
- Library/Cataloguing experience an asset
- Proven ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills with the ability to provide technical assistance to GSCS staff
- Successful related experience
- Commitment to ideals and principles of Catholic education
Terms of Employment:
- As per Collective Agreement
- 12 month position
- 7.25 hrs/day
- To begin asap and continue to August 29, 2025, or the return of the incumbent, if earlier
- Salary range $25.60 to $30.25 per hour
