Position: Executive Director
Position Profile: The Executive Director plans, organizes, and manages the business affairs of the Centre. This position develops effective management policies and procedures for operations and financial accountability to ensure the continuity of daily operations and meeting client needs to achieve the mission and vision of the Centre.
Position Reports to: Board of Directors
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Reports to Board of Directors on a monthly basis and advises board on all important issues related to clients and program/services development. .Ensures financial and statistical reports are prepared and distributed, and report on operations
2.Assists in the development of organizational policies and provides procedural direction to the board.
3.Supervises and/or does the bookkeeping function and ensures proper financial controls are in place. Authorizes expenditures as required.
4.Prepares employee payroll for the Centre and programs.
5.Prepares the annual budget and monitors the budget on a monthly basis.
6.Oversees the preparation of all proposals and financial reports for submission to Government Funding Agencies. Ensures that daily, weekly, and monthly reports are submitted by staff and reviews reports to identify any issues.
7.Supervises programs and the transport function to ensure proper policies and procedures are in place to ensure smooth operations and financial accountability meet client & staff needs.
8.Provides leadership and supervises staff activities through hiring, monitoring, performance evaluation, termination, and layoff of staff.
9.Reviews the training and development needs of employees
10.Works to develop a workplace culture that is positive and productive.
