Description

Leading Thunderbird Lodge is a male youth treatment facility and is an entity of the File Hills Qu`Appelle Tribal Council. The facility is located at Fort San, Saskatchewan (near Fort Qu `Appelle) and provides a 12-week residential treatment program for male youth between the ages of 12-17.

Position Role:
Providing supervision to all youth in residence
Providing assistance, guidance and support to meet youth needs and requests.
Assisting with the completion of required documentation (shift logs, daily summaries, etc.)
Assisting with meeting timelines for bedtime, morning breakfast, circle, class, etc.
Providing transportation for youth to scheduled activities and events
Ensuring office is clean and tidy for the next shift
Ability to identify and resolve complicated issues and to ensure that work decisions are made based on the Leading Thunderbird Lodge policies, procedures and guidelines

Qualifications:
Grade 12 and a combination of experience may be considered
Clean Drivers Abstract and a Valid Driver's license is required
A certificate in Addictions-Youth Care Worker would be an asset
First Aid-CPR, ASIST, Non-violent Crisis Intervention would be an asset.

Applicants must also lead an addiction free lifestyle & promote their own wellness and an interest in promoting First Nations culturally based programming.  Candidates should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proven reliability and the ability to work in a team. Be available to work a variety of shift types, ranging from day, evening, and nights.
