Position Summary:
Reporting to the Shop Lead, the incumbent provides mechanical and fabrication trades support services to applied research and development projects in the shop and in the field.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The following are the general duties of these positions but are not inclusive of all the detailed tasks that may be required.
Maintaining and repairing equipment
Troubleshooting mechanical issues
Data analysis to assess the performance of machinery
Ensuring machine safety and maintenance
Communicating with and supporting project managers and engineers
Provide technical support to projects with advanced level and wide range of variety in the lab and field
Basic interaction with clients
Reporting and documentation of issues and processes

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Advanced knowledge of shop equipment use
General knowledge  Drawing and work instruction reading/interpretation
Agricultural machinery operation is desirable
Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment

Credentials and Experience:
Journeyperson Certificate (Millwright, Heavy Duty Mechanic, or Agricultural Mechanic will be considered)
Red Seal Endorsement is an asset
5-10 years of relevant experience
