Grain Millers is an international agri-business with interests in whole grain manufacturing, merchandising, Grain, and oilseed milling and other Value-added Manufacturing. Our plants are located across North America with our Canadian headquarters in Yorkton, Saskatchewan.
Essential functions:
General Accounting Functions includes:
Prepares month end general ledger entries, generation of financial statements, Calculation of monthly expense accruals, Review accounts for reasonability, reconciling accounts and adjusting as required. Preparation of GST and PST returns monthly.
Prepare daily inventory transactional entries, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Payroll Function:
Performing all regular monthly payroll journal entries, Understanding of pension and union reporting requirements ,Assist with tracking and maintaining accruals for payroll including vacation, sick and seniority and Review and process of final payroll for reasonability before employees are paid.
Inventory Functions
Daily accounting of the warehouse inventories including reviewing and adjusting entries
Reconciles book inventory to physical inventory at month end this includes physical inventory counts.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor degree in Commerce or Business Administration.
Minimum 3 years experience in an accounting environment.
Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
Highly proficient with accounting software.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to accurately and timely meet deadlines.
Proficient in Microsoft Office or similar software
Able to work in a grain processing environment that exposes staff to allergens such as, but not limited to, grain dust
