Description

The Provincial Archives of Saskatchewan seeks an effective communicator, cross-team collaborator, and innovator with strong leadership, organizational, and analytical skills for the Manager, Reference and Outreach Services position. The Reference and Outreach Services Unit is a small and friendly team responsible for public reference services and outreach programming for the PAS.

The ideal candidate will be a resilient and results-oriented leader who strongly commits to personal development and stays current in a changing landscape. They will show a passionate commitment to engaging the public with our historical past. They must have the ability to adapt their communication style and tone to fit the situation and audience to build support, educate, change behaviour, and promote understanding.

They must also possess:

- Extensive knowledge of management of client service delivery in an archives, library, museum, or heritage institution; and archival theory, principles, and applicable legal requirements for access to and use of records (including The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, The Health Information Protection Act, and The Copyright Act);
- Strong problem-solving skills to accurately determine underlying causes of problems, evaluate available alternatives, and use sound thought processes and relevant experience to make optimal choices in a timely manner, even in challenging situations.

To qualify for this exciting leadership position, the candidate will have:

- Master's degree in Archival Science, master's degree in a similar course of study, or equivalent combination of knowledge and experience; and
- Five years of practical related work experience in an archives, library, museum, or heritage institution environment, including experience managing a team.
