Job Description: The EMT will respond to calls for service as per dispatch instructions, providing assessment, treatment and transportation of ill or injured persons. The EMT will cover standby assignment, as operations require.

Licenses- Valid Class 4 driver's license
- Health Care Provider Level C Certificate (HCP-C)
- International Trauma Life Support Certificate (ITLS)
- Registered Paramedic (2011 National Occupational Competency Profile standards)
- Basic Life Support Instructor Certificate (BLS)
Other Education and Training- Pre-Hospital Care Program - Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) Level
- CMA accredited Pre-hospital Care Program-EMR
Competencies - Basic - Interpersonal skills
- Basic - Communication skills
Knowledge and Abilities- Ability to communicate with clients from diverse backgrounds
- Ability to keep effective work relationships with clients of diverse backgrounds
Other Information- HSAS seniority in the SHA will be considered under the selection criteria
- Preference to HSAS members as per the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement
- Registered/eligible with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics at PCP/EMT level
- Clean Driver's Abstract
- Must be able to respond to the ambulance within 10 minutes when on-call
