What Youll Do as a Senior Accountant:
Reconcile accounts, analyze reports, and process journal entries for direct bill and general ledger accounts.
Provide guidance to the accounting team, distribute workloads, and offer feedback to support team growth.
Address inquiries from business partners, clients, and internal departments with professionalism and clarity.
Manage reinsurance accounting and assist with key financial reporting, including PST, GST, and lease reporting.
Oversee cash receipts, maintain petty cash, and review accounts payable for accuracy.
Partner with auditors to ensure smooth year-end audits and support compliance.
Assist with policy audits and conduct quality control checks to maintain high standards.
Lead, train, and mentor less experienced team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
What You Bring to the Table:
Bachelor of Commerce degree with a focus in accounting.
Completion of (or close to) your CPA designation.
At least 5 years of hands-on accounting experience.
A strong foundation in accounting practices and principles.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Confidence to take ownership of tasks, make decisions independently, and provide leadership within the team.
Proven ability to plan, organize, and motivate others.
