Description

The Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency (SPSA) is seeking eight (5) results-oriented, dynamic and motivated individuals for the position of Casual Cook at the Lower Fishing Lake Protection Base.

The successful candidates will provide meals to fire base and parks staff throughout the fire season. You will also be required to develop and maintain healthy and nutritious menus and meal planning, order food and supplies, and maintain inventory, monitor food quality and other duties as assigned. You will be able to understand and complete written materials such as checklists, short notes, forms, requisitions etc. and will be able to relay information, and provide input to others on request to increase understanding of an immediate situation or circumstance. You will also be responsible to maintain a clean work, eating and storage environment.

The successful candidates will have knowledge of safe food handling procedures and will be willing and able to receive their certification if they dont currently hold their certificate in this field. You will also hold and maintain a valid drivers license. You will be required to work shift work and weekends. You may be required to be on call for extended periods and temporarily assigned to other locations in the province.

You will be reliable, respectful and able to work independently or in a team environment. Candidates must clearly indicate in their covering letter or rsum where they have acquired their knowledge, skills and abilities. Selections of candidates to be interviewed will be made on the basis of this information.

The successful candidates must have:
Completed a health evaluation according to Agency policies/guidelines.
Possess a valid Class 5 Saskatchewan drivers license.
Good communication skills both written and oral.
