Personal Care: Assisting clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility. This may involve using assistive devices and following care plans as directed.
Meal Preparation: Planning and preparing nutritious meals according to client dietary needs and preferences, and assisting with feeding as required.
Medication Reminders: Providing medication reminders to clients as per their care plan, but not administering medications unless specifically authorized and trained to do so.
Light Housekeeping: Performing light housekeeping duties, such as dusting, vacuuming, laundry, and tidying, to maintain a clean and safe environment for clients.
Companionship: Providing companionship to clients, engaging in conversation, and participating in activities that promote their social and emotional well-being.
Documentation: Accurately documenting client care activities, observations, and any changes in their condition, ensuring clear and concise communication with the healthcare team.
Communication: Communicating effectively with clients, families, and other healthcare professionals, maintaining confidentiality and respecting client rights.
Adherence to Standards: Adhering to all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines, as well as relevant legislation and regulations, including the Saskatchewan Employment Act, Labour Standards, and Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
Emergency Response: Recognizing and responding appropriately to emergency situations, including contacting emergency services and following established protocols.
Qualifications:
Successful completion of a recognized Personal Care Worker course from St. John Ambulance or another credible training provider recognized by the Saskatchewan Ministry of Health. Proof of certification is required.
Valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Drivers License with a clean driving record.
