In this role, you will:
- Perform civil design and/or oversee the design of large construction projects, including roads, railways, airports, bridges, dams, storm/sewerage systems, pipelines, etc.
- Be responsible for scope development, planning, and cost estimating to support business cases over the asset life cycle.
- Work with civil designers for CAD work in support of development of civil 3D models and 2D drawings including all construction details.
- Develop and revise technical specification, work on scope of supply, BOMs, MTOs, CWPs and construction work packages.
- Be responsible for ensuring that the design work is done in accordance with Camecos processes, procedures, standards, design criteria, and regulatory requirements.
- Inspecting completed civil projects for compliance with industry codes, specifications, and safety standards.
- Preparing work schedules and allocating resources, as well as supervising junior engineers, technicians, and contractors.
Required:
- Bachelors degree in civil engineering
- Four to six years of relevant work experience
- Eligible for registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS) as well as Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO)
- Strong communication, collaboration, planning and organizational skills
- Intermittent travel to Camecos northern sites by aircraft and to Ontario locations
- Able to work independently
- Self-motivated, reliable, strong work ethic, natural enthusiasm
- Travel to our operations in Northern Saskatchewan and/or Ontario by aircraft on a need basis
Recommended:
- Previous experience in projects related to the mining industry
- Knowledge of applicable codes, regulations and standards
- Knowledge of 3D viewer software such as Navisworks, Jetstream, point cloud
