The Controller of the Regina Pats Hockey Club (the Pats) is responsible for leadership in the delivery of meaningful, accurate and timely reporting of financial and other business metrics to ownership and all levels of management and maintaining financial policies and procedures to enhance the strength and consistency of internal control.
Duties & Responsibilities
Planning
*Provide support and input into the annual operating and capital budget processes.
*Provide support and input into the forecasting and related modelling.
*Manage cash flow and provide timely communications and recommendations regarding the future cash projections and needs.
Financial Reporting
*Responsible for overseeing the overall financial operations of the organization.
*Evaluate financial and key metric reporting to allow for consistent reporting to ownership and senior management of the Pats.
*Prepare the monthly and annual financial statements, including variance analysis, in a timely and accurate basis to allow for monthly and annual financial statement and reporting packages for the Pats.
*Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial statements, compliance with regulatory requirements, and effective internal controls.
*Prepare the annual audited financial statements and tax filings for review and approval by the ownership and senior management.
*As requested, prepare any financial reports for ownership and/or senior management.
*With input from the Chief Financial Officer, formulate accounting policies in accordance with ASPE and ensure consistency through the Pats.
*Prepare the monthly and annual financial statements, including variance analysis, in a timely and accurate basis for the Regina Pats Community Foundation.
*Prepare the annual audited financial statements and tax filings of the Regina Pats Community Foundation for review and approval by the ownership and senior management.
