Description

We are looking for a proactive and knowledgeable Safety Officer to join our team. The Safety Officer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive safety programs to ensure a safe working environment for all employees. This role involves conducting regular safety inspections, providing training, and fostering a culture of safety within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
    Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures in accordance with Saskatchewan Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
    Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
    Investigate and report on all accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
    Provide safety training and education to employees, including new hire orientation and ongoing training programs.
    Maintain accurate records of safety-related activities, including training, inspections, and incident reports.
    Collaborate with management and employees to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
    Ensure that all safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) are properly maintained and used.
    Stay up to date with industry best practices and regulatory changes to ensure ongoing compliance and improvement of safety programs.

Qualifications:
    Prior experience in a safety officer role, preferably in a manufacturing environment would be an asset.
    In-depth knowledge of Saskatchewan safety regulations and best practices.
    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    Certification in safety management (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH) is a plus.
