The Role
As a key member of the radiation department, you will assist in ensuring compliance for the radiation protection program. You will collect, maintain and record radiation data from the facilities as well as issue radiation work permits.
In this role, you will:
-Conduct routine monitoring and assess working conditions pertaining to radiation protection for the safety of all workers
-Work as a part of the entire safety, health, environment and quality (SHEQ) team and assist others to ensure regular deadlines are met
-Respond in a timely and efficient manner to requests for assistance from other departments
Required:
-Radiation or environmental monitoring technician certificate or a post-secondary education in a science related field
-At least six months of work experience using radiation protection principles
-Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered
-Team player with the ability to work independently with safety as a core value
-Excellent communication and analytical skills
-Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft
-Willing to work in an industrial setting
Recommended:
-Experience with Microsoft Office
-Experience as a member of an Occupational Health Committee (OHC)
-An aptitude and desire to become a member of the emergency response team
