Description

The City of Prince Albert is currently accepting applications for multiple, casual positions of Recreation Assistant. The position will be working at the front desk of the Lake Country Coop Leisure Centre, monitoring programs and facility operations and responding to the needs and inquiries of the participants and customers.

The successful candidate must be able to work a variety of shifts including early mornings, evenings and weekends.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities:
Monitor activities throughout the recreation facility and prevent accidents through the enforcement of rules, policies and regulations governing the conduct of persons using the facility while promoting a leisure atmosphere.
Respond to accidents and emergencies through prescribed procedures.
Assist with development and implementation of programs in response to public needs.
Ensure work and program areas are maintained in a neat, tidy and safe manner and report facility deficiencies.
Communicate with the public on facility rules, policies, and regulations to enhance public knowledge and safety and ensure adherence.
Handle cash including but not limited to product sales, receipting, counting and balancing.
Register public for programs.

Required Qualifications:
Grade 12; or
Grade 10 if a continuing full-time student
Valid Driver's License
Experience or further education in recreation and/or community development is an asset.
Ability to communicate effectively with the customers, public and co-workers.
Self-starter and an ability to work with minimal supervision.
First Aid and CPR C Certification from a recognized institution is an asset
