Description

As part of the Cultural Services Department, the City of Humboldt is seeking to fill Seasonal, in-scope (union) Full-time Worker positions with responsible, creative, and energetic university students to fulfill duties at the Museum, Gallery, Water Tower, and Original Humboldt. The positions are 37.5 hours per week and will commence on May 6 and last until August 30, 2025. The general work schedule is Tuesday to Saturday from 8:45 am  5:15 pm with flexibility in shift scheduling to accommodate public programs.

The positions include developing, implementing, and evaluating a wide variety of historic and art programs, archaeological programs, online content development, and database work. Students will gain practical experience to develop employability skills for the future job market.

Ideal candidates will be in a field of study, which includes education, museology, history, fine arts, anthropology, Canadian studies, new media, information systems, or another relevant field. Students must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and have extensive experience working with the public, and in particular, children. Candidates must provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check  including Vulnerable Sector Search. Experience with database software and Microsoft Office Suite is an asset.
