Description

Position Summary:
This role involves performing professional engineering duties related to environmental reviews for development applications and managing impacted sites in Regina. The position includes overseeing environmental projects, ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting sustainable development, and managing contracts. It reports to a Senior Engineer in the Environmental Services Branch.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Develop specifications, contracts, and review proposals for project bidding and awards.
Provide project management, contract administration, and engineering support.
Oversee consultants and contractors, ensuring compliance with city standards and environmental regulations.
Approve expenditures and protect civic assets.
Prepare technical reports, business documents, and represent the department in meetings with Council and stakeholders.
Conduct assessments and review environmental and risk reports.
Evaluate constraints on impacted sites and implement aquifer protection plans.
Oversee environmental site assessments (Phase 1 and 2) and other duties as needed.
Key Qualifications:

University degree in Engineering (Environmental or Civil) with 4+ years of experience in environmental engineering.
Knowledge of safety regulations, environmental risk mitigation, and organizational principles.
Skilled in project management, communication, and leadership.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and environmental remediation software.
Strong communication skills for presentations to management and City Council.
Ability to work independently and within a team.
Working Conditions:

Registration (or eligibility) as a professional engineer in Saskatchewan.
Valid Class 5 drivers license and vehicle required (mileage reimbursement).
Criminal record check and proof of education may be required.
